With plans of expansion around Union Station, the existing neighborhoods will greatly benefit from the improved connectivity to the downtown area. This will include completed bike lanes, pedestrian-scale lighting, and improved cross walks which will increase pedestrian safety. This expansion is also estimated to create thousands of new jobs, as well as generate more revenue for the area. These plans are set to strengthen the existing neighborhood creating a safer, more attractive, and walkable area for residents old and new. Expansion of this area will include thousands of new households which will also aid in the support of those who have been previously displaced in this area.
